Hey! Thanks for hosting a giveaway. Just this morning I was walking through the farmer’s market on the way to work thinking that one of my favorite things about fall is the smell that seems to linger in the crisp air. It smelled like a mixture of caramel, apples, and pumpkin spices. Heavenly!!
Fall is wonderful here because it is basically summer but without the crowds :) I also love that the weather cools down enough to get back to baking again, too!
I tweeted the message above, liked Savory Simple on Facebook and Twitter. I hope I win.
I have a blog website please check out: http://www.alpharettamoms.org!
Thanks!
I love breaking out the sweaters and sweatshirts, raking leaves, bonfires on a chilly night, taking a walk with my wife in the cool clean evening air, and smelling crisp sweet smoke from the neighbors’ fireplaces.
I just became a fan of Savory Simple on Facebook. Thanks for dropping by my potato soup recipe today – I love your recipes and am very happy to have found them!
I love everything about Fall! I love squash, and concord grapes, and crisp apples! I love being able to roast things in my oven again without turning my apartment into a sauna!
Thanks for stopping by my site and for the ‘likes.’ I really love the look of your site (I had Linen for a while) and the recipes look terrific. I’ll have to give some of them a try.
The idea of a giveaway is great. I was thinking of giving away a Kosta Boda skull for Halloween. Would you mind if I rode on your coat tails and adopted your steps for entry? They are really great.
My favorite thing about fall is the stick-to-your-ribs food with lots of stews and roasts. Also the chill in the air in the mornings.
What I love most about this fall is that in 2 weeks (which means I’m just in time for all the holidayss) I will be able to eat anything and everything I want again! Move aside guys, I’m coming through, and my taste buds are ready to have some fun!! Oh yeah, I should tell you my background story first, huh?
The reason this is soo exciting for me:
About 3 weeks ago, my boyfriend and I began a 5-week-long detoxing program. This past week was the climatic, most difficult stage of the detox. It included 2 days of fasting and only water and lemonade were allowed to enter our system (with the other 5 days of consuming only fresh fruits and vegetables).
And, with us being pigs usually, you can just imagine how horrified we were during the fast haha. Overall, the entire 3 weeks has been difficult – but very beneficial to my body. I feel better, lighter, and I don’t regret for a second about choosing to do the detox. In addition, because the other 4 weeks of the program required that we ate very healthy, nutritious, and fresh foods – no microwaving, everything fresh off the stove or fresh out of the fridge – I have learned a lot about cooking and baking. It has sparked an interest in me to learn where my foods come from, know how it is processed/made, and conclude that I prefer to make everything myself whenever possible. :)
Despite how healthy, energetic, and awake my body feels due to all the nutritious & healthy foods my organs are receiving, I cannottt wait to have some sweets!!! Sweets are my kryptonite. And during the detox, we were not allowed refined sugars, including brown sugar. Even honey was eliminated after week 1 due to possible pollen allergies, despite the nutritional benefits honey also brings to the table. So I’m dying to bake everything sweet I can think of once my detox is over. No doubt, I will be conjuring up all sorts of autumn goodies too!! :)
Thank you, Savory Simple for this fun little contest. Fyi, I also took steps #2, 3, & 4. Good luck to all on the giveaway!
Contest reply #1! Fall is my favorite season! I love when the weather gets cooler, the nights become clean and crisp and you can hear leaves crunching under your boots! It’s also when the best smells start coming from the kitchen… warm apple pie, hearty pumpkin soup, spice cookies and zucchini bread!
Contest reply # 3 Following you on Twitter now, and Tweeted your line about entering the contest for the Amazon Gift Card! Thanks for a lovely blog! I really do enjoy reading it. :-) Sincerely, Sara

My favourite thing about fall is the cooler weather. Georgia is blazing hot in the summer and the cooler weather of fall is so refreshing.
Roasted squash is the best food about autumn, but I do love jogging in the crisp air (and sipping coffee on rainy mornings afterward).
